Golden Thread: Grasp
"In this world, you are given a Number from 14 to 27 that determines your lot in life. The higher your number, the better life you have. At the top are rulers and businessmen. At the very bottom, we struggle just to survive. Our only hope lies in one who can change fate, the "Child of the Sword." However, we cannot wait for one to appear.
There is a magic item known as the Spirit Grimoire. With it, you can interact with Spirits and others who wield them. Unfortunately, it's illegal to sell these to a Number 14, so some other means must be performed if you want to obtain these powerful items that at the very least acknowledge our existence. The only viable method outside of outright illegal methods to obtain a Spirit Grimoire is from the corpse of another. The only way this is viable is that such deaths escaped even the authorities, a fate where your death has been forgotten. I've been investigating such cases for a while, and one has finally come up. However, it's in a dangerous home filled with hostile spirits. As much as I want to keep looking for a better alternative, time is of the essence..."
This solo-developed brutal RPG puts you in the point of view of those at the very bottom. Standard RPG methods to grind and out-damage your enemies may not apply; use the right skills at the right time to overcome (or follow to completion) your fate.
Game Features:
- A unique turn-based battle system emphasizing strategy and correct usage of skills, not unlike a puzzle to solve
-Strange, unhinged spirits that want to murder you in a (mostly) not-flirty way
- xx hours of gameplay and exploration that (probably) doesn't include repetitive actions such as excessive backtracking and grinding
- A small part of a much larger storyline in the rather messed-up world of the Golden Thread
- Multiple bad endings, several dumb ways to die, and one true ending
- Hand-crafted 16-bit pixel art and fully rendered digital art
-Pain (optional; change difficulty settings at nearly any time)
Golden Thread: Grasp is in active development and is currently 1/2 of the way done!
