Although the game attempts to be a goofy, satirical take on various aspects of capitalism, it blatantly references distressing subjects that are through various enemies, bosses, and their attack patterns.

The level 'Straight of Devastation' is solely based on imperialism, conquest, and genocide. It references several war crimes which are currently being carried out with no signs of cessation or genuine sanction.

The level 'Flats of Ire' has a couple of references to media racism and the persistent scapegoating of foreign migrants.

God is Debt is a satirical Shoot 'em up that takes place in a world where our worship of capitalism resulted in the birth of a new pantheon. Each god embodies a different aspect of capitalism.

The game was made for the by . I have spent 190 hours on this project, spread over 20 days.

The game was developed in GameMaker Studio 2. Other software used was Aseprite for the visuals, Waveform 11 for the music, and Chiptone for the sound effects.

Depending on my thoughts after the jam, I may expand upon the game, extending it to have at least 5 complete levels, as well as a few other features that would have taken too long for this jam.
