プロジェクトに打ち込んでいたところに、
研修を終えた「藍井静那」が新人として配属されてきて、昴は一目惚れしてしまう。
しかし仕事に私情を持ち込むことはしないと、あくまで先輩社員として接することに徹するが、
一年近くが経過したある日、昴は静那に告白、静那もそれを受け入れる。

その後、二人は職場結婚し静那の苗字も昴と同じ「枢木静那」となる。
公私混同を避ける為に部署は変わったが、お昼は一緒に食べる等して、仲良く新婚生活を満喫している。

そんなある日、静那の元に同窓会の案内が届くが、仕事や家のことで忙しいからと、出席しないと言う。
仕事はともかくとして、自分のことで家に縛り付けたくは無いと、出席したらどうかと提案する昴。
あまり乗り気では無かった静那も、最後は夫の言葉を受けて同窓会へ出席することに。

仕事中、慶太との話の中でその話題となり、元彼でも居て気不味いんじゃないかと、冗談交じりにからかわれる。
その場は笑い飛ばしたものの、一人になってから少し気になってしまう昴。

数日後、静那がお土産を手に帰宅。特に変わった様子も無く、
慶太の言っていたことは的外れだったのだろうと、そう安堵する。
だが暫くすると、静那の様子が少しおかしいことに気付く。
時折、何かを思い悩むように、考え込む姿を見かけるようになった。
夫として力になりたいと思うが、慶太の言葉が脳裏にチラついて、
不安が先走ってしまい、自分からは言葉をかけられなくなる。
