Interweb
Interweb is a story-driven exploration game inspired by early 2000s personal websites; players can explore the fictionalized website of the character Katie Ventura, clicking links, reading text, and more in order to discover the truth behind her disappearance.

The goal of Interweb as a story is to shine a light on the pandemic of domestic violence in this country; every nine seconds a woman is beaten in the United States. And that statistic doesn’t even cover the emotional, financial, or sexual abuse that may be afflicting our nation’s men and women. While domestic violence does occur to men, an overwhelming majority of domestic violence victims are women (and non-binary people). I firmly believe this is a gender issue, and the societal expectations of gender are at least partially to blame for allowing men to believe it is okay to abuse their female partners and for encouraging women to stay silent through the abuse. That silence permeates our society, and if we can start to talk about how prevalent domestic violence is and teach people not only how to identify it but how to avoid it, then we may be able to decrease the number of cases.
