creator's note:

this little game here is my first ever coding + visual novel ever.  i always liked the combination between cute art and disturbing experiences. so a reminder that this game is indeed NOT a simple cute visual novel. (INSPO: Fluttermew! Please follow em :D)

game + art is all done by myself. the cgs, sprites, backgrounds and gui is drawn by me in ibispaint using my... thumbs lol, so i apologize if they look a bit wonky. i started this game in december and finished in early february.  i made this on my school computer :( so sooner or later i will have to delete the files on my pc.

i would really like constructive criticism, so that i can improve on my next projects ! so please comment any issues you find or mail me at [email protected]

This is a game about a normal human being, you, that somehow managed to enter this overly sweet sugar world. So sweet it makes you sick, literally!

You got taken in by a sweet girl named Sucrose,  and she's been taking care of you the last 3 years. Although you're not getting better. The so called "after effects" of the world affects your body a lot, and in Sucrose's words it's because your body is not used to this amount of sugar in the air. She promised to keep you alive, and so you have been able to survive by her help.

Today is a special day! That is because your other friend's from this world are coming over for a tea party, meaning that you get to finally talk to them after 2 years. You want to catch up with them, and maybe along the way you'll find out what's really wrong? As you do that though, make sure your brain doesn't rot to a sugary mess.

CHARACTERS:

The sugar puffs you'll be engaging with.

SUCROSE:

She's the girl that has been taking care of you the past 3 years. She's sweet to the core. Her appearance, personality and whole existence is coated with nothing but sugar. Although lately her odd behaviour has been making you question everything, but you've gotten used to it at this point. She loves gummy bear pancakes, candyleaf tea and sugar cubes! Loves to take care of others and have people dependent on her. She also seems to be in some sort of way medically intelligent, but works as a baker. Easy to get along with, but might be intimidating at certain points. Don't anger her!

MALTOSE:

A newly fashion designer that sky rocketed after she turned in her "Sugarplum" design, making her quite popular. She's the tallest of them all, but also the less serious one. She lives with Fructose and keeps on nagging him to pay the rent, also scolding him when he eats her food withouth permission. She likes to hang out, and putting makeup on others. Also easy to anger, but she doesn't really take anything too personally and will gloss over stuff easily. Don't spill to much!

FRUCTOSE:

He's the shortest and also seems to be the punching bag of the group. He's timid but also really gentle, wanting to make sure everyone is comfortable around him. He's an aspiring surgeon and forever grateful for Sucrose's help during his finals. He's not the one to stand up for himself, and might even go blank. He doesn't like to be touched too much and seems to be really emotional around the player, since he gets attached really fast. Seems to have a thing for Sucrose but not at the same time. Finds Maltose's teasing annoying and frustrating, so maybe help him out? Don't be too dependent on him!

Again thank you for checking this game out. The game has 6 endings total and 15 CGS! (Technically this game has no "happy ending" but the sixth ending can be seen both ways)

LIST OF ISSUES: Help would be appreciated!During the game, if you click the "save" button on the bottom of the page, the left side of the save page will be smooshed. I don't really know how to fix this, but it seems like it has something to do with the spacing of the text. You can still save, but won't be able to quit the game this way. So please "save" first and click on "Main Menu" to return back so you can quit that way. Might not be that big of an issue, but it does bother me.Grammar issues. English is my 4th language, so the game might have grammar issues. I don't really mind small grammar issues, but if there is any quite big grammar issues you find in the game, please tell me where so I can fix it :)Art issues :( It's quite funny how my art changed after 1 month. I used a much more simpler style since it's my first game, but promise will do ALL my best for the next one!
