Gator Love (Atari 2600)
Development on this game began in 2007 and its protracted life cycle has existed across no fewer than three separate indie labels that have represented it. But now, as of February 2024, this game whose production has been something among the shadows for nearly two decades is finally being released! Gator Love, the debut console title from Gator Company, is now available to play free of charge! You can play this binary ROM in any Atari emulator or on real hardware with a flashcart.
This game is billed as "Custer's Revenge, but furry" and that's fairly spot-on. This game was made using assets recycled from Custer's Revenge and modified extensively to turn it into a new experience. The most obvious change to the game is that the characters have been replaced with anthropomorphic alligators. A more subtle change, and probably more important, is that the violent sex has been removed. Both the new box art and new gameplay depict a significantly more consensual encounter between the player character and his object of desire. It's still very much an 18+ only game however so as per itch.io's rules on adult content I've labeled it as such; this game is not intended for minors!
Gator Love is available in cartridge form courtesy of Packrat Video Games! You can order it in either a collector's or standard edition direct from Gator Company here. All physical copies ship with Gator Company Game Card #01 commemorating the release of the game. Individual collectible Game Cards are available for this (and other) games in the Gator Company online store. (Physical editions coming soon, follow this page for announcements.)
