an angel showed itself to me today

and its voice was hollow

and meek

"it's coming," - it said, "the end of everything."

and it made a spark

i asked for more, but it refused to give

and its voice was quiet

i refused to believe

i was just seeing things

i was just thinking things

i was not

my skin is not my skin

my eyes are not my eyes

i do not feel for free

my thoughts do not belong to me

my body does not belong to me

they are loaned

i began to plead, but it refused to give

and its voice was power and powerlessness

and its voice was birth and death

and its voice was a deafening silence

and as it spoke, my eyes began to hurt

and it left

and as it left, it shined a light

a blinding white light

with colors so strong

all my life was gray

the light was cold

and alien

and debilitating

and as it beamed, my eyes began to fail

and soon, i couldn't see

and as it beamed, my body began to fail

and soon, i couldn't stand

and as i hit the ground, i understood

it's coming.

the end of everything.

there's nothing i can do.

i was brought into this world through no choice of my own.

and i will be taken from this world through no choice of my own.

i am not poweful.

i am not remarkable.

i am dying.

and so is everything.

and i cried.

and as i cried, a ghost showed itself to me.

and her voice was shy.

and her voice was hopeful.

"uh, hey" - she said.

"uh, sorry if i'm bothering you"

"and it's okay if you don't want to"

"but"

"the world's ending"

"and, um"

"it doesn't look like there's anything i can do about it"

"so"

"you wanna--"

"uh"
