Dead Air

"Dead Air" is a 2.5D shooter set in dark horror bloody theme. After the unexpected crash landing on a foreign planet, you must survive waves of incoming aliens approaching to you.

The player controls the character armed with a powerful shotgun by using A & D keys for moving, W for jumping and left mouse button for shooting.

The main source of survival is an oxygen level which slowly drains itself, so you have to back to the base and attach the oxygen source to yourself if you are close to dying.

Meanwhile, aliens slowly approach to you and deal damage by reducing your oxygen level per hit. Dashers charge towards you and deal damage by collision and Spitters release projectiles from distance.

You can defend yourself by shooting them with a shotgun, however reloading takes some time and you have to hold the gun horizontally in order to reload.

You are also able to collect resources (rocks & crystals) by clicking the right mouse button when you are standing close to any of them. You can use these resources to deliver them to the ship and upgrade it to increase your capabilities.

The ship's level affects your stats such as maximum level of oxygen, maximum capacity of shotgun bullets and reload time. The text near the ship indicates what types of resources you need and how many units of each of them to upgrade it.

The game contains graphics which may not be appropriate for everyone.

The project was made during "PolyJam 2025" game jam which took place from 24 to 26 January 2025.
