A Wolf Dreams Of Love

There was once a time when humans were scared of their lives ending. They were scared that floods would end all human lives, they were afraid that there would no longer be enough food to eat, they were even afraid that their many battles would eventually end with humans destroying all life on their planet. In the end, when the last human exhaled their last breath, they weren’t thinking about how humans would all die because they knew the answer.

When humans were gone they left behind many things for their successors to use to build their new civilizations. Vampires, dragons, and werewolves took over the world, creating their societies using the knowledge left behind by humans. Their societies were different from human societies in many ways, and similar to them in many more ways.

As different as the new world was, love never changed. The desire for companionship was just as strong among young werewolves, dragons, and vampires as it had been among young humans.

Once the werewolves, dragons, and vampires had been enemies, but they eventually decided that love was far more beneficial than war. It didn’t matter what species they were as long as they could love each other.

Multiple times every year an event was held for young werewolves, dragons, and vampires to encourage them to love each other no matter what they looked like. That event was a masquerade where werewolves, dragons, and vampires would conceal their identity then try to love each other. It was a popular event for young werewolves, dragons, and vampires seeking someone to love.

Tonight is one of the nights where there is a masquerade.
