A DREAM I HAD
A DREAM I HAD is a "1-Bit style" GameBoy game inspired by Jungian archetypes, Tarots and astrology, populated by grotesque figures in a brutalist world.
The aim of the game is to reach completion through exploration, starting from being the Fool and interacting with the various representations of the Self, some harmless and others more dangerous.
I wanted to experiment with the graphic limits of the GameBoy, using glitches to create maps that would represent the subconscious.
It was developed using Chris Maltby’s and has been tested on a GameBoy Classic.
In addition to playing online, a downloadable GameBoy rom and a help file on Pdf are available for free.
A deck of Tarot cards inspired by the game, and related instructions, can be purchased separately.
The deck is downloadable as a pdf and can be printed on A4 cardboard (B&W, double-sided, minimum 220g).
